30-40 Krag ammo for sale
The 30-40 Krag ammo was a cartridge developed in the early 1890s to provide the U.S. armed forces with a smokeless powder cartridge suited for use with modern small-bore repeating rifles to be selected in the 1892 small arm trials. Since the cartridge it was replacing was the .45-70 Government, the round was considered small-bore at the time. The rifle ultimately selected for use by the Army was the Krag–Jørgensen, formally adopted as the M1892 Springfield. The cartridge was also used in M1893 and later Gatling guns.

What is the 30 40 Krag ammo good for ?
30-40 Krag round uses a 180 grain soft point pushed at 2,430fps. This is perfect for medium game like whitetail deer, feral hogs, and black bear. This isn’t a super high velocity or very flat shooting load, but it’s still deadly on bigger game like elk and moose at shorter range.
